It`s always a long way until the work is done. Sometimes I hate my painting so much that I just want to throw it into the garbage can...but I think that every artist comes to this point and you just have to keep on painting or drawing and get over it.

I want you to have a better understanding of what I am doing when I draw and paint, so hopefully this is helpful for you!

In this case, I started with the background and then added a white layer. I always start with the outlines of the object that I am drawing or painting. Because the head is the most interesting part (especially the eyes) I can`t help but to finish it first. Then I add the basic colors of the body plumage and progressively add more and more details. The tail and wings are normally the last parts that have to be finished in my paintings.
